Admission from USA
US Secondary School applicants will be considered on a combination of factors including senior academic courses, test scores, and advanced academic course work (International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, honours, etc.). Successful applicants normally require a GPA of 2.80 or above (3.00 for programs in the Faculty of Business Administration) and an SAT I score of 1550 or higher (ACT 22). See theprogram A-Z listfor a list of our undergraduate programs. Choose your program andmake a note of its Faculty. When you reach the section of the application where we ask you for your "Intended Program of Study," we will ask you for the Faculty, Subject Area, and Program/Plan. Typically, you will enter your program's Faculty in the "Faculty" field, your program in the "Subject Area" field, and the type of degree (BA, BBA, BSc, BASc) in the Program/Plan field.
  1. Apply atmyBCcampus. In BC, the Postsecondary Application Service of BC (myBC campus) accepts applications for all 25 public post-secondary schools in BC, including SFU. Begin your application by entering basic academic and biographical data. After entering your basic data, you will move on to the SFU part of the application.
If at any time your connection is lost when you are halfway through, contact us for help atgosfu@sfu.ca.
  1. Pay
  1. Once your application is complete, you will receive your permanent SFU student number. If you experience difficulty filling out the application, please view our "Applying to SFU"video tutorialor contact us atgosfu@sfu.ca.
  1. Report your grades on theStudent Information System. Canadian Grade 12 students (except for Ontario high school applicants who should provide SFU with their OUAC number) may self-report their grades online up until April 30, 2010. If you do so, we may be able to make you an early offer of admission.
However, most applicants don't receive an offer of admission immediately. We may need additional information and/or official documents. If your application was incomplete, you will receive an email from SFU containing your temporary user ID and password in two to three weeks' time.
  1. These include any academic documents required for admission, transfer credit, or advanced standing (original transcripts, official test scores, proof of citizenship or permanent resident status, or any other items requested by us).

  1. Check online atsis.sfu.ca. Please regularly review your to-do list atsis.sfu.cafor any required documents we need to evaluate your application. Your application cannot be considered until we receive your fees and all official documents. Once your to-do list is cleared, your application will be evaluated. Once approved, your offer of admission will be send both by email and by mail.
